"What does that have to do with us working together?"

[paladin313]

"Combine the best of what the two of you can do," said Ian, "That way, you can fix things and not have to cause widespread destruction to do it."

[Auir]

"... Please understand the monumental task you're speak of here. Which does not require her in the picture." she said while shooting a sideways glance at the goddess.

[paladin313]

"I think it does," said Ian, "Considering she is the goddess of nature, and this kind of area is her responsibility."

[Auir]

"We're talking about artificially converting the entire ocean from sodium-chloride salt to Epsom or monopotassium phosphate salt."

[paladin313]

"*Sigh*, no, we are talking about keeping things as they are, but cleaning up the mess and putting things in place to keep the mess from coming back."

[Auir]

"I think we're on different pages."

[paladin313]

"I like how he thinks," said Jorg, "Yet, there still has to be a lesson learned."
     As she said this, through a car mirror came Belldandy with a picnic basket, saying, "Ah, there you are.  I thought you all were getting hungry...  What is with the desk and containment on Jorg?"

[Trace Carter]

"It's...complicated," said Z, "I estimate that the rising water and increased plant life will begin to adversely affect the foundation of the human buildings in about 2 hours."

[Auir]

"Oh boi, that's bad.

Wait, how do I help in all this?" said Skuld, still unclear at what Ian was getting at.

[paladin313]

Belldandy set the basket on the desk and said, "Skuld, is there a problem?"

[Auir]

"Yes, what did Ian mean when he said I could help out."

[paladin313]

She gave a curious look to Ian, and he explained all that had happened.  "Oh, I see," said Belldandy, "And it is science versus nature right now?"
     "That's pretty much it," he answered.
     She looked at the two of them and said, "Oh dear.  Come now: both of you are smart.  But, if you work together, you could solve problems.  Jorg, you have every right to protect nature, for that is your job.  But, the last time this was needed, there was far less people on Earth, so it was not as bad.  Now, there are billions, and 300 million in America alone.  To do things the old way is not good.  You have to find new ways to accomplish the same things."
     Jorg looked surprised and said, "But, she's your sister!  Of course you would side with her!"

[Auir]

"I still don't get what I said that led to the idea of us working together."

[paladin313]

"*sigh* nobody said it," said a frustrated Ian, "I suggested it--I said it!  You two seem to be fussing about nature versus technology--whose way of handling man's foolishness is better.  Jorg thinks divine retribution, you say use machines to fix everything.  Am I right about that or wrong?"
