"I see," said Z, "so much for that idea,"

[Auir]

"Adding and removing electrons won't exactly result in a nuclear explosion you know? The material you're using isn't exactly unstable." said Skuld.

[paladin313]

"I was talking about particles in the nucleus," he said, "That means I could probably do some neat experiments in time, but I cannot, say, change lead to gold yet without disastrous results--at least Lind says not to mess with it yet."

[Auir]

"Even if in the nucleus, the materials here are neither packed nor are they unstable. It's perfectly safe."

[paladin313]

"Well...  I'm going to trust my teacher," said Ian, as Belldandy set them all down in a park on the waterfront.

[Auir]

"Alright, but it's physics we're talking about here." she shrugged.

[paladin313]

Ian looked at it and said, "Yes...  The water is higher than normal.  It's like a spring high tide after a lot of rain."

[Auir]

"But why would Ford target here of all places?"

[paladin313]

"...because of how all this is hurting the land," came a voice from behind.

[Auir]

She whisked around to see who it was. The background darkening and a look of shock and surprise overcoming her face. Her hand raised, almost covering her mouth and her flabbergasted eyes wide. In the background, one could almost hear a DUN DUN DUN!

And all it was, was a very pretty goddess, dressed in the colors of nature, with a nice smile.

[Auir]

"Who are you again?" she asked, cocking her head to the side with a question mark above her face.

[paladin313]

"I am Jord--goddess of nature!" she said with a slight bow.

[Auir]

"And why here and nowhere else?" she asked, still in the same pose.

[paladin313]

"Well, I haven't checked the rest of the coast yet," she said, "I'll tend to that once this area is cleansed.  Oh, but don't worry: I'm doing it nice and slow to give villagers time enough to leave the area."
     This she said with a cute smile, as if this was no problem.
