Proter was there, wearing a sports jacket, slacks, cowboy boots and hat, and a sting tie.

"Shall we make the transaction?" Malek asked.

The matre d' stopped them and said, "I am sorry, but your friend cannot enter without a tie."

(They are, and some five-star places still demand formal wear.)

(Ah, my bad. I'm a bit absentminded today)

Malek put his hand at his throat and then made his had go down, making a tie appear.

"I'm a magician in my spare time." Malek said.

"What about him?" he said, not recognizing a string tie as a tie.

"Surely, you'll let it slide this one time?" Malek asked, secretly using a spell to add a slight compelling effect to his voice.

Before it took effect, Proter said, "Ain't you never seen no string tie, boy!  I is wearin' a tie, and perfectly formal for the good ol' south.  Now you gonna let me in, or do I have to break a few teeth!"

Malek de-activated the spell on his voice.

"Mr. Proter, there's no need to get physical. " Malek said. Malek turned back on the spell before saying. "Maitre d', will you overlook it just this once?"

Whether it was his approach or Proter, they were let in.

"It's been awhile since I've been in this kind of restaurant" Malek muttered.

They were guided to a table, and, yes, on the floor, but elevated enough to be at the right place in front of the grill while the chef spun his blades.

(I've never been in this kind of restaurant, so I have no idea what to do.)
