"So Yggdrasil can't pinpoint it?"

[paladin313]

"Clearly not," said Hild, "Which makes me ask two questions: one, is the source here on Midgard, and two, why would someone or something want to do this?"

[Auir]

"It's not that it can't pinpoint it, it's just not showing up. There's no source. It's as if the ring is the source."

[Trace Carter]

"Is that possible?" asked Z, "can I see a readout of the ring?"

[Auir]

"Yeah." she showed him the laptop. There was an outline of a ring around the Earth, parallel to the moon's orbital trajectory. The levels were highest in the outline and gradually dimmed as it went farther and farther away.

"It's like a force of energy from the earth forcing the moon away," said Ian, "As if it wants to occupy that space."

[Trace Carter]

"Do you think that the ring could be negated if we could pinpoint the frequency and the amplitude?" asked Z

[Auir]

"Yes, in theory it's possible." she frowned.

[Trace Carter]

"Mom, I need a favor," said Z.

[paladin313]

"Really?" she said, "You know favors with me carry a price tag, right?"

[Trace Carter]

"I know that," said Z

[paladin313]

"Then, what is the favor?"

[Trace Carter]

"Could you use Niddhog's computer system and work with heaven, just this once, to solve this crisis?" said Z, "If the earth is destroyed,  shares will eventually stagnate due to the lack of humans to cause misfortune to."

[paladin313]

"That is true," she said, "I do have a stake in this.  Okay, then let's sync up, but..."
     She pondered, and then said, "But, I think this is more than a computer issue, and we may have to actively intervene."

[Auir]

"What else could it be besides a computer issue?" frowned Skuld.
