"Is that fine with you?" Z asked Hild.

[paladin313]

She sighed and said, "I would have preferred magnificent desolation, but I'll deal with it."
     "Good," she said, "Then I shall watch them and act at the right time."

[Trace Carter]

"thank you," said z

[Auir]

"Well, let's not keep you waiting them." she joked and they went.

With that, they were on their way.



They were in the bus, and they were being given the whole show, and came to a spot where it was a walking tour.  They walked down the road, and ran what looked like a frozen lava run!

[Auir]

Skuld read the brochure about this.

[paladin313]

Apparently this area was inhabited before things got going, and the road was a part of it, but now covered by the lava flow.  The guide then said, "Here, we have two different examples of lava: pahoehoe and a a."

[Auir]

Skuld listened quietly.

[paladin313]

"The Pahoehoe is this smooth, rolling lava that looks like ropes, and it is fitting that its name means 'rope like.'"
     She picked up some pieces of aa and handed it to Skuld.  It was pointy and sharp.  She then said, "I bet you can tell me why they call this 'aa'."

(Pronounce ah-ah.)

"Because it's sharp and might poke someone?"

"You can say that!" said the guide, "Imagine being barefoot and discovering the hard way a field of this.  What would you say?"

[Auir]

"Hiii?"

[paladin313]

"If someone told you to step on this a-a, what would you tell them?"

[Auir]

"No?"
