"Which means you'll forget about each other when it's done." Urd said.

"Not necessarily," she said, "All they will forget was that they were paired.  Even then, it won't be long for them to get reacquainted."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"wait so will we forget each other or not?" Z asked confused

"You should not, because you are going to be in close quarters with each other, and only forget that a ceremony took place at all.  However, if you do forget, since you two have not known each other all that long, it would not be long before you two would come reacquainted, with no memory of what had happened, so there is nothing lost."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"Ok," said Z, "I'm going to go find Mr. Malek.  Call me when dinner is ready."
Z headed to the garage.

In the meantime, Lind said, "I am beginning to wonder if psychology was not your calling, Ian/"
"What do you mean?" he asked, with an odd look on his face.
"I mean, I have a guess that your ability falls in the area of chemistry," she answered.   This only brought a curiouser look to his face.
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"Mr malek are you in?" asked Z as he entered the garage.

"Hello, Z." Mini-Malek said, as he put another clip in the anti-magic bag.

"What do you mean?" he asked.
"I think your skills lean more towards Alchemy...but on a manipulative way, not the way Urd does it."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"I was wondering if you could help me with a spell I'm working on." said Z, "it involves using lightning to charge and shape a fire blast into a beam form."
"The secret to creativity is combining logic and science with Fantasy and fiction"

"It sounds like you are trying to create a spell that has a high cost but low payout. What you seem to describe is a flamethrower spell with a secondary effect of lightning, but done in a complicated way." Mini-malek said. "It'd be easier to use a laser spell with a secondary effect of either fire or lightning. Not both, but only  because the payout isn't very good when you compare the energy output to the energy cost."

"In a laser spell, is it possible to alter the direction of the beams?" asked Z
"The secret to creativity is combining logic and science with Fantasy and fiction"

"Yes and there are three ways. Just add a secondary effect of  increased accuracy, a homing ability, or a remote guiding effect." Mini-Malek said. "Keep in mind that they do increase the energy cost of the spell. The increased Accuracy effect is the cheapest, but all it does is increase the accuracy of the spell. The homing effect makes the spell seek out your target, but it can be tricked by a decoy flare spell. The remote guiding effect is the most expensive, but you guide the spell's direction by concentrating on a target."

"so how would I add a remote guiding effect?" asked Z
"The secret to creativity is combining logic and science with Fantasy and fiction"

"I can't teach you here. Sort of for security reasons. The sesson will have to be at the arcade." Mini-Malek said.
