[Trace Carter]

Z cast a spell and caused their car to swerve off the track and out of the path of the flying car.

[paladin313]

The driver screamed at suddenly having his car wrenched from his control and he started to spin.

[Trace Carter]

"Um, a little help would be nice," Z whispered to belldandy.

[Auir]

When everything was still, Skuld ran over to the driver.

"Are you alright?!"

[paladin313]

"It felt like someone shoved the car out of the way!" he said as the caution flag came out and the pace car followed.

[Trace Carter]

Z was breathing hard on the side, "that was too close," he mumbled, "what was I thinking trying to force a large, heavy, fast moving object to move?!"

[Auir]

"At least you're alright.

[paladin313]

"Uh, yeah," he said, and started, but then he said, "Uh-oh..."

[Auir]

"What's wrong?" she asked.

[paladin313]

"Sounds like the axel cracked.  We're gong to have to pit and replace it.  Good thing we have a half hour on the rest."

[Auir]

"Alright, we'll wheel it in." said Skuld as she went to get the others.

[paladin313]

The crew was ready when the wire came in, and as she returned, they said, "Kid, how fast can you get that new axel on?"

[Auir]

"In an instant if you guys help out." she said.

"This'll be great, I wanted to try installing one made of carbon-fiber. It'll take off another few pounds."

[paladin313]

"We don't want it too light...it might leave the track and flip if we go as fast as we have been."

[Auir]

"It's just a few pounds, it's still well within the risks of optimizing your speed."
