"I-idiot!" she snapped.

"W-we're just. Really good friends, that's all." said Skuld, turning a bit red.

[Trace Carter]

"That's not what I heard," said Z teasingly.

[Auir]

"Geez, just send me that photo when you can!" she turned around and headed back to her seat.

[Trace Carter]

"Nee-sama was right," laughed Z, "teasing skuld was fun."

The picture had her doing that with the zombified driver, who then tore off back into the race.

[Trace Carter]

Z went to sit with the others.

...and on the race went.  Hours passed, and soon the second driver came and took over.  The other driver had calmed some, but he looked at the girl and said, "What did you do to the car?  It practically drives itself."

[Auir]

"Installed and replaced some components here and there. Nothing major." she replied innocently.

[paladin313]

He gave the eyebrow and said, "Like...what?"

[Auir]

"Well, I switched the engine to a forced-induction type to give it more kick, and I used carbon fiber for the rims to make it less heavier for a few."

[paladin313]

"Force...induction?  That's street legal?"

[Auir]

"It should be."

[paladin313]

As he was talking, the crew was looking over the rules...frantically.  It would be rare in a race this length that a GTX model would be leading as such, and they now had a 1/2 hour lead on the pack

"Oh, Keiichi, has not Skuld done a wonderful job?"
     "Oh my goodness..." mumbled Keiichi, hoping there was not some kind of self-destruct on the car.

[Trace Carter]

"Isn't enhancing their car hurting your chances of winning?" asked Z, "Or am I misreading the rules again?"

"No...but if it is perceived that we gained some kind of unfair advantage..."
     As he said, that, a car at the rear their car was about to lap caught the wall, swerved, and started a horrifying flip through the air, heading right for their car.
