Deberk then brought out his storage orb and transferred the energy.  Once he was done, he gave Z back Z's storage orb.

"Let's wait until Z gets back before we do anything." Urd said.

[Trace Carter]

Z thanked Debrek and teleported back to K1's group

[HotelKatz]

Deberk then followed him.

"So it's what's his name..." Urd said.

"My name is Deberk." Deberk replied, getting a bit annoyed.

"So, Debrek.." Urd said, enjoying the reaction.

"It is Deberk, not Debrek." Deberk said, getting even more annoyed.

"Whatever. So what's your info?" Urd asked.

"Kakarine is the cause of the magical parts.  I still do not know if the drivers know about the parts." Deberk said.

"But, why would she be doing this?"

[HotelKatz]

"Beats me. Dunno anything about her." Deberk replied.

"I bet her scheme is just to mess around with us and make us paranoid." Urd said.

[Trace Carter]

"how dangerous are the parts," asked z

[HotelKatz]

"My scans showed they only seemed to magically enhance the car a little bit." Urd said.

"There's a time-delay reaction spell command in the parts that will turn them into ordinary parts that's set to occur during the upcoming race." Deberk said.

[Trace Carter]

"what would that accomplish," said Z, "would anything bad happen if the car suddenly stopped being magically enhanced?"

"Not too smart," said Ian, "For, if it caused the car to not perform, it could be a disaster.  You see, on these super-speedways, NASCAR has all the cars put governors on the engines.  That caps the maximum speed, but makes for tight pack racing.  36 cars three abreast, bumper to bumper, and one mistake..."

[Trace Carter]

"oh," said Z realizing the situation.

"Racers call that 'The Big One,' and it is not pretty."

[HotelKatz]

"Got a list of the parts and the racers that have them, Deberk?" Urd asked.

Deberk produced a paper and handed it to Urd. Urd looked it over.

"You might be able to replace the magic parts with regular ones within about three days, if you don't mind sneaking about during the night." Deberk said.

"That's the only way..."

[HotelKatz]

"Well, I'm off." Deberk said, getting ready to teleport.

"Wait, aren't you going to help us?" Urd asked.

"The deal was for me to help you look into the problem, nothing more." Deberk answered.

"Sounds like you want disaster to happen."
