"I'm going to read a book in the shade," said Z, "I never liked swimming in the ocean."

...and the day went on.  The next day would bring their first test by a time trial on the tri-oval.

The next day was the time trials for placement in the race.

Z was making sure the car was in good condition with the help of some of the crew.

The engine trolls said, "We got it today!  Just make sure that this thing is rigged for speed!"

[Trace Carter]

"It's all set," said Z finishing up.

Tamiya and Oktai made sure the spoiler was low enough to allow for more speed, but not so much that the car would lose the track.  Keiichi looked at the high banks on turns one and three and said, "My goodness...how is the car going to keep the road!"

[Trace Carter]

"Just be careful and remember that Belldandy is able to heal you but would prefer not to have to." said Z

"Interesting track--semi banked at the tri-oval and the straights leading to it, high in the turns, flat in the backstretch..."

[Trace Carter]

Z just looked confused at what was said.

As he waited his turn, other teams were passing by and laughing, razzing him for being the rookie, some saying to be careful, because this was not Tokyo Drift.

'if those fools only knew what K1 has done' smirked Z

[paladin313]

Soon, they were called, and all the ESPN cameras were on them now.  He got in and they fired it up. He caught the pace car and off they went.

"How do you think he'll do?" Z asked Belldandy.
