What happened to Washu's husband? I understand that she is so to speak, Mihoshi's ancestor grandmother. Well, the question that happened to her husband and her firstborn son?

Another thing that the hell happened to Mihoshi

attracting the right circumstances, it materializes in what I want.

Mikamo married a widow. He never seems to have moved into the leadership of Seniwa. He eventually died an apparent natural death.
Washu attempted to take Mikumo back at one point (that whole story is in True Tenchi Muyo! v.3, Washu). but his stepsister pleaded with her not to take her beloved brother. The step-siblings got married, as you do. Mikumo, eventually rose to lead Seniwa, creating the Galaxy Federation by joining Jurai and other groups. His wife died naturally eventually, after they had Minami and Mikami. Being the son of Washu blessed him with long life though and he led Seniwa for over ten thousand years. During the events of the GXP novels, he is seemingly dying without naming a successor. Washu (still believed by the galaxy to be missing or dead) shows up, announces his death and reveals that she's his mother and will be handling his body. But what has actually happened is that he has faked his death, Washu helps him create a new youthful body and, tired of his never-ending responsibility, runs off with his nurse to start a new life.

There was apparently supposed to be a fourth TT novel about Mihoshi, but it was scrapped.
What can be pieced together is that a man she was romantically involved with was actually a pirate spy who tried rewrite her brain. He did a shitty job and made the one-time hyper-competent Mihoshi into the ditzy (but still talented)  girl she is now. It's mentioned in the novels that she is still receiving treatment to repair the damage.

But in the anime didn't she wander into Tokimi's realm and for some reason thats why it broke her body and her mind?

nah, thats just fan speculation. in the novels the man who used to crush on her gives a whole long monologue on what happened to her right before seina accidently yells into that microphone to give the start of the school year speech. it causes a bunch of students who had their brain remodeled using the same tech to be hospitalised

So the picture of broken Mihoshi......what about that?

artistic representation.. a tease...
Don't know, but I don't necessarily consider it a literal depiction of anything specific.

So who is running Seniwa now? Just curious.

I may need to look at the newest translations. I remember it being a bit unclear.
As I understand it, Minami was announced the proxy new leader of Seniwa. As in he has a period of time to prove himself worthy of the job or something. Those chapters also sort of describe a more democratic system for the majority of the empire, with representatives forming an argumentative congress of some sort. There were also both a Kuramitsu Men's group and a Women's group that shared a little power. The men's group was disbanded though (as the head of the group, who wanted to be named leader, was soon to be revealed to be attempting a military takeover of the Galaxy Federation) and Mikami was appointed head of the women's group and given the responsibilities of the men's group. Maybe once the various Kuramitsu and other Seniwa men involved in the coup are ounished, the men's group will be reinstated.

I was under the impression that Mihoshi's father was actually the crown prince from the ruling family, and that Mitoto married into the family. Ofc, that wouldn't explain why Mitoto and her children, Mihoshi and Misao, are both still Kuramitsus. I don't remember where I found that. So I must be confused.

I really need to get a hold of the GXP novels. I got all the Hasegawa ones on bookwalker. But.... yeah.

Actually remembered to add the reference for the bit that says Nakita (Mitoto's husband) is the non-royal who had to be adopted into the family... in order to marry into the family.

Technically, they don't have princes and the leaders are decided according to merit by the previous leader... but highly biased toward the Kuramitsu family. According to the novels, Mikumo wasn't originally thought to be a candidate for the leadership position. His Grandfather was leader, but his father wasn't. Plus, because of his green eyes, it was obvious that his mother wasn't Seniwan. But he just kept doing impressive stuff and forced his way into the conversation as the only good choice.

Taima Kuramitsu thought he had a chance because of his own accomplishments (not realizing Mikami knew he was leading a coup) and because the direct family all had strikes against him.
Mikami was "wild and rebellious" when she was younger, Minami tried to destroy Earth with the Chobimaru (but apparently forgivable), Mitoto was just weird, Misao was young and also involved in the Chobimaru incident, Mihoshi has her "brain thing"- otherwise she might have been the leading candidate.

Just when I think I've learned all there is to know... I find more. Thanks.

So, what was Misao's rank or function in OVA 3?
