While all this was going on, Ian was in his cottage, laying down on his couch, but feeling dizzy and sick to his stomach.

Skuld knocked on his door.

He moaned but said, "Come in."

His markings were more prominent than ever, but not quite all the way there.  His build had become more chiseled for certain.  He smiled at her weakly and said, "How did you know I wasn't feeling well?"

"The groaning gave it away," she said.

He groaned again, went to stand, and tip of the arm of the couch ended up crushed in his hand.  "Whoa!" he exclaimed, "What is happening to me?"

"It's complicated," said Skuld as she passed him a glass with a dissolved pill in it.

However, he went for the glass, but stopped, remembered the couch, and gingerly grabbed the glass, which was straining not to break even with that, and carefully picked it up and drank it, hoping it didn't taste nasty.

it tasted like water, but his body quickly felt much better.

He sighed with some relief as he went to set the cup down, but this time he squeezed it too hard and it shattered in his hand.
