"I'm a half-breed," sighed Z, "my mom's the only demon that likes me and my sister won't accept me.  Also, my father left before I was born.  I don't see what's so great."

"I can," she said, cheerfully, "Because no one is allowed to come into existence by my father that does not hold some use for him.  For that, you should be happy.  Moreover, it is not how you start, but how you finish.  It should never be that your past defines you, because your past is not today."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"Whatever," sighed Z before catching a tear in a vial and handing it to Belldandy, "give this to your sister.  I read one of her books and saw that a demon tear is a valuable ingredient."

She took the vial, but she was a little adamant and said, "No, stop!  It is not 'whatever'!  You have value!  If Daddy did not want you around, he would not have let you happen.  What happened to you in the past does not define who you are now!  You are the sum total of all your decisions...all your decisions.  You make your own way.  You take the lemons you were given and make some nice and sour-sweet, tasty lemonade!"
She then took a very motherly stance and said, "And I will not go away until I know you've been cheered up."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"I don't think your dad has control over everything mom does," said Z.

"Well, no," she said, "But he does have more than she would care to let on.  Besides, if your existence meant far too many unfair shares for her, he would never allow it.  Yet, the existence of those like you and Ian serve a purpose, and Ian would not be if you were not, and you would not be if Ian were not.  My father and your mother worked it out so that both of you could be, and that means you have a purpose.  Be proud of that."
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"But what?" exclaimed Z, "It's not like Ian's case!  Demon's don't really like humans so someone like me is not liked or accepted that much."

She sighed, wondering how she was failing.  She always knew how to cheer someone up, but she was failing this.

((Really, she can do this!  I don't know what to say here.))
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

(Oh she can.  If she could get Lind to apologize sincerely then that might help.  The 'demon spawn' thing really hurt.)
"The secret to creativity is combining logic and science with Fantasy and fiction"

((Oh...getting Lind to admit error?  Now THAT would be a miracle!))
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

(yeahhhhh...well it is what's at the root of all this.)

She then asked, "What would make you feel better?"
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"If Lind didn't mean what she said earlier," said Z softly.

"What she...oh..." said Bell, "That is harsh.  Hmm...  She indeed is someone who can let her emotions override her words and say things she does not mean.  Well, if you give me a chance, maybe I can talk to her.  Or...  I wonder of the defense mechanisms would be tripped if you sent in your avatar?"
Fear is ignorance expressed through panic.

"I'd rather not risk that," shuddered Z, "last time my avatar got in trouble I had nightmares about being sealed for a week."
