"i appreciate what you've done, don't get me wrong, but, I'll say it like this: I'm either amazed or impressed the love you show for me, as if I've been with you for ages, and you show such love."
     Emotion kicked in as a tear rolled down his cheek as he said, "No one's ever been this kind, except for my mother, of course, to me."

[Trace Carter]

"You're family," said Skuld as if that was all the explanation needed.

[paladin313]

"Well, you're right, but, aren't I still a total stranger, more or less?"

[Trace Carter]

"I trust you," said Skuld.

[paladin313]

"You're one of few," he said, "Outside of family, what is it about me that makes you trust me?  Did you build some special trust detecting machine and test me while I slept?"

[Trace Carter]

"Lind vouched for you," said Skuld, "She doesn't do that for just anyone."

[paladin313]

"And just who is she, anyway?"

[Trace Carter]

"she's the leader of the fighting wings. the valkyries."

[paladin313]

"Alright then," he said, "I get the trust part now.  But, why would someone like that be assigned to me...if that is what that is...I guess...  Ugh, there is so much to know."

[Trace Carter]

"We don't completely understand either," said Skuld.

[paladin313]

Trying to return some normalcy to things, he said, "Well, I guess I'd better settle in," going for his bags and beginning to unpack.

[Trace Carter]

"We'll call you for dinner," said Skuld.

[paladin313]

"Thanks," he said, "You're one of a kind."

"so are you," joked Skuld
