Everyone sighed in relief, only having heard the word "Sweat", and Ian just kept it covered up, saying, "Skuld, I really love you, kiddo."
     He turned to his sisters saying, "Thank all of you.  For the first time in my life, I really feel like I have a family..."
     However, something happened.  He started to cry, but then started to let it out.  He started to yell and rant about what had happened to him, the people and the way they made him feel, how it wasn't right, and what gave them the right, and he was letting it all out.  All folks could do was just stare, at a loss for what to say or to do.  This went on for a good eight minutes before he was on his knees, spent, much quieter, but somehow, there was an air of peace about him.

[Trace Carter]

Urd smiled and gave him a hug, "you're our family now, kiddo."

He smiled and began to laugh a bit, saying, "Catharsis...now?  How do you like that?"

[Trace Carter]

"Cat what now?" asked Z.

[paladin313]

"Catharsis," said Belldandy, "A cleansing.  I am so glad to see that you have let it all go."
     He nodded and said, "It's all in the past.  I can't change it.  I can't make them change.  I could exact revenge from them, but, what good would it do?  They'd never acknowledge what they had done.  They wouldn't even remember.  it's foolish to hold a grudge."
     "And that is what you were holding," answered Bell, "I could read it in your aura.  It's all clean now.  You are free."

[Trace Carter]

"I think I should go," said Kazi, "I have some things to do."

"And I can move on and start my own future," said Ian, to which Belldandy nodded and smiled.  She then noticed Kazi and said, "Oh, but why go?  We are having such a wonderful time."

[Trace Carter]

"This is a family moment," said Kazi, "and I still have some things to do at home."

[paladin313]

"Who says!" said Ian, "The surf's up!  Let's hit it!"
     He then grabbed a board and headed for the beach.

[Trace Carter]

Kazi didn't follow, "...can't swim." he muttered.

[paladin313]

"Neither can Skuld," said Bell's avatar on his shoulder, "But you can still play in the surf.  But, what is really bothering you?"

[Trace Carter]

"It's nothing," lied Kazi as he looked away.

[paladin313]

After a moment to think, she said, "Do you feel you cannot be close to your family...on your mother's side?"

[Trace Carter]

"You really are perceptive," muttered Kazi.

[paladin313]

"Of course," she said with a happy smile, "I am a goddess after all, and part of my job is to look over the present.  I must be perceptive.  I am certain she loves you, but there is something I must reveal to you about...for the lack of a better term...those like you who are halflings, as Ian is.  In truth, it is something that gives you an advantage over the gods.  You have a freedom we do not have but your sister does because she, technically, is a halfling as you."
