"Academy Days!" A Unique Look into the Galaxy Police Academy.

At the reqest of waito_x, here is the link to my newest Tenchi Muyo! fanfiction, "Academy Days!". It's technically a prequel to another story of mine but you don't really need to read it to understand this one (apart from a few idle cameos). The story is about Kiyone, Mihoshi, and Mitsuki recounting their two years at the Galaxy Police Academy, detailing why they joined, how they met, and a lot of the shenanigans that they were up to at campus. It's mean to be a fun, comedic story with bits of action and intrigue, too.

Let me get right to it.

You (fellow forum members) hopefully share in DishonorableKnight's appreciation for the two main GP ladies from Tenchi movies and the contemporaneous Universe show. The now Major Minor / Ascended Extra Mitsuki rocks third wheel while the other two, for a number of beginner's luck running out reasons, are flying blind. I did have some difficulty accepting Yagami as their mode of transit and not the Yukinojo (even though it's mentioned in Chapter 1 about 26 times) only because of how inundated I was in OVA back when fics were written.

Anyhow, I really want you all to take time to read Academy Days not only for it posing as a fresh Slice-of-Life detour from the usual Kagato as bad guy routine but because of the absolute gap in Tenchi fanon this past decade (looking at AO3's two, a mere TWO Isekai no Seikishi works and both sub 50K wordage  ). You will really dig it.

I'll have more to write about on the updates on AO3 proper.

I did have some difficulty accepting Yagami as their mode of transit and not the Yukinojo (even though it's mentioned in Chapter 1 about 26 times) only because of how inundated I was in OVA back when fics were written.

The only reason the ship's name is Yagami instead of Yukinojo is because that's the ship we recognize as the one belonging to both Kiyone and Mihoshi, whereas Yukinojo is the one that exclusively belongs to Mihoshi.
